Slow Food Travel is a Slow Food Association project. We aim to place our knowledge of the territory at the disposal of travellers, through the definition of itineraries in Italy, with itineraries abroad to follow in the near future.
In order to guarantee quality service, Slow Food has called on the technical and organisational support of RSI Group, a company with lots of experience in the world of tourism, which is capable of dealing with requests from all the operators and companies who see Italy (and not only Italy) as the perfect backdrop for their holidays and events.
Slow Food Travel’s aim is to help you discover less celebrated destinations or little known aspects of the most visited areas. It aims to offer additional support to the local network of food producers, producers of wine and other drinks, farmers, artisans, hosts and restaurateurs who have always been important to Slow Food and to everybody who gravitate around these people and their businesses, in a tight and rich network of relationships which are themselves a discovery for the traveller.
Any profits derived from the Slow Food Travel project will be equally divided between RSI which invested in creating and developing the project, and Slow Food, which lends its name and its store of knowledge and contacts. Any quota of profits due to Slow Food will be invested, as always, in the Association’s strategic activities, starting with the creation of educational gardens and Slow Food Presidium products in Italy and throughout the world (www.slowfood.it).

Because tourism too has become standardised, reduced to mere buying and selling, aimed only at distracting. Slow Food Travel aims to meet the needs of the curious, those who are interested in discovering the more significant aspects of the place they are visiting and in spending time there. Because we like the conscious traveller, not the “hit and run” tourist. Because, even in this age in which mass tourism dominates, not everything has been seen, described and documented, even in the most visited places.
Slow Food Travel proposes holidays for those who want to rediscover the value of knowledge. While meeting and exchange have always been at the root of travel, the pleasure of travelling comes not only from the places visited and time spent relaxing, but also from the experiences you make and the people you meet.
Slow Food Travel places at the disposal of travellers the network of people, products and places that are the basis and the essence of Slow Food, the Association which has been promoting food culture, education in taste and the protection of quality products since 1986.
Travelling is like dreaming: the difference is that, on waking, not everyone remembers the journey, whereas everyone vividly preserves the memory of where they have stayed.
